The Carmi-White County Lady Bulldogs are regional champions! They defeated Newton last night in 3 sets; 25-18, 20-25, 25-20 to win the Lawrenceville regional. The Lady Bulldogs advance to the Pinckneyville sectional where they will face Massac County on Monday. If Carmi can win that match, they’ll play the winner between Pinckneyville and Fairfield in the sectional championship on Wednesday. Congratulations to the Lady Bulldogs, they are now 30-7 on the season as they are regional champions for the 2nd time in 3 years.

Norris City took down Sesser-Valier in 2 sets at the Elverado 1A regional.
Trico defeated Edwards County in 3 sets at the Wayne City 1A regional.
Goreville took down Cobden in 2 sets at the Goreville 1A regional.
Fairfield defeated Mt. Carmel in 2 sets at the Hamilton County 2A regional.
Massac County defeated Murphysboro in 2 sets at the Massac County 2A regional.
Pinckneyville defeated Carterville in 2 sets at the DuQuoin 2A regional.
Tomorrow afternoon the Carmi-White County football team will take on the Breese Mater Dei Knights in the 1st round of the IHSA 2A football playoffs. Carmi is looking for their first playoff win since 2013, and their first home playoff win since 2006. Fans can watch and listen to tomorrow’s game on 97.3 FM WRUL and the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel.
Kickoff is set for 1 PM, the Taylor Eye Care pre-game show will begin at 12:40 PM.
