The Carmi-White County Bulldog Football team defeated Eldorado back on Friday by a final score of 40-30.
The Bulldogs were led on the ground by Noah Pollard. He had 260 rushing yards on 23 carries and 3 touchdowns.
Kale Wiggins had 100 yards on 7 carries and 2 touchdowns.
The Bulldogs improve their record to 7-1 on the season. They will travel to Johnston City on Friday to face the 7-1 Indians. A win for the Bulldogs will set up a 3-way tie for the Black Diamond Conference Championship. A win for JC gives the Indians the outright conference title.
The Carmi-White County Lady Bulldog Volleyball team took part in the Edwards County tournament on Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs finished in 2nd Place after going 4-1 on the day, with their only loss being a 3-set heartbreaker to NCOE. Caroline Simmons and Ashlyn Rager were named to the All-Tournament team.
The Lady Bulldogs are now 31-2 on the season as they have two more regular season games left on the schedule. They will host Harrisburg tonight, and then travel to Grayville tomorrow. Fans can watch tonight’s match on the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel.
Carmi-White County senior Aidan Willis qualified for the IHSA State Golf Finals this past weekend in Bloomington. Willis shot a 79 on the first day, which advanced him to the second round. In Day 2, Willis shot an 88, finishing him in 56th place out of 112 golfers.
Carmi-White County seniors Olivia Cox and Nevaeh Hampton are heading to the IHSA Tennis State next weekend in Chicago after their doubles team finished in 2nd Place at the Centralia Sectional on Friday and Saturday. Cox and Hampton made it all the way to the Sectional Championship doubles match before falling to Carbondale in 2 sets. Congratulations and best of luck to Olivia Cox and Nevaeh Hampton next weekend!
The Carmi-White County Cross Country team will run at Gallatin County today.
The CWC Junior Varsity football team will play their final game of the season tonight at Eldorado.
