Local Sports Recap – October 2, 2023

The Carmi-White County Bulldog Football team defeated Christopher-Zeigler Royalton back on Friday by a final score of 52-14. 

Andrew Dodgson led the way on the ground for the Bulldogs, rushing for 114 yards and 3 touchdowns on just 6 carries.
Noah Pollard also had a rushing touchdown.
Cade Allen caught a 65-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Landon Driscoll.
Trayton Vickers had a 38-yard interception return for a touchdown. 

The Bulldogs are now 5-1 on the season, they will host Edwards County this Friday for Homecoming.

In Jr. Pro football over the weekend,
The Carmi-White County 5th/6th graders fell to Sesser-Valier 22-6.
The 7th/8th graders defeated Sesser-Valier 52-20 to complete the undefeated regular season. The Bulldogs will play Flora this Saturday for the Black Diamond Conference championship. It would be CWC’s first BDC title since 2019.

Best of luck to the 5 CWC Golfers who will be playing at sectionals today.
Maxon O’Daniel, Aidan Willis and Cayden Holloman will be playing in Waterloo Sectional.
Ava Shiever and Courtney Snow will be playing in the Taylorville Sectional.

The CWC Girls Tennis team will travel to Benton today, they are looking for their 6th straight win.
