Last night the Carmi-White County Bulldog basketball team defeated the DuQuoin Indians 63-52 in the first night of the 25th Annual DuQuoin Tip-Off Classic. The final score looked a lot closer than what the game really was, the Bulldogs led by 23 at one point in the 3rd quarter. Carmi was led in scoring by Bryce Conner who scored 23 points. Mitchel Edwards scored 14. Tyler Goemaat and Landon Driscoll both scored 10 points, Trey Dixon scored 4 and Gavin Holloman scored 2. The Bulldogs improve to 2-0 on the season, they will go back to DuQuoin tomorrow to face Cairo at 5:30.

Anna-Jonesboro defeated Hardin County 65-42.
Harrisburg fell to Lovejoy 62-59.
Herrin defeated Cairo 72-23.
Galatia downed Gallatin County 67-58.
Benton defeated Johnston City 60-34.
Hamilton County defeated Goreville 54-46.
Tonight the Carmi-White County girls basketball team will begin conference play when they travel to McLeansboro to take on Hamilton County. The Lady Bulldogs are 2-4 on the year after going 2-2 in last week’s Harrisburg Preview Tournament.
