The Carmi-White County boys basketball team defeated Sparta last night at the DuQuoin Tip-Off Classic by a final score of 52-47.
Carmi led by 12 after 3 quarters of play, but Sparta didn’t quit. Sparta cut the Carmi lead all the way down to 2 with a few minutes left to play, but the Bulldogs were able to close it out and get the win.
The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Landon Driscoll who scored 21 points.
Gavin Holloman scored 13.
Mitchell Edwards scored 10.
Kade Stockton scored 5.
Trey Dixon scored 3.
Carmi will go back to DuQuoin tonight to face Sesser-Valier at 7 PM. Fans will be able to listen to the game on 97.3 FM WRUL and online at WRUL.com.
The Carmi-White County girls basketball team will also be in action tonight as they host Hamilton County for their first conference game of the season. The Lady Bulldogs are 4-1 on the season.
The CWC Wrestling team will travel to Olney tonight and they will host Mt. Carmel tomorrow.
