Local Sports Recap – May 4, 2023

The Carmi-White County Lady Bulldog softball team picked up a 5-4 win over Goreville yesterday afternoon, improving their record to 14-7 on the season.

The Lady Dogs trailed 4-1 heading into the bottom of the 6th inning, but RBIs by Mia Evans, Kadie Simmons and Audrey Upton put Carmi in front and they held on to win it.

The Lady Bulldogs will travel to Fairfield today to take on the Lady Mules, a win for CWC would clinch at least a share of the BDC Championship.

The Carmi-White County Bulldog baseball team will also travel to Fairfield this afternoon. The Dogs look to avenge an 11-4 loss against the Mules back on Tuesday. Fans can listen to today’s game on 97.3 FM WRUL and online at WRUL.com

The Carmi-White County girls track team finished in 2nd Place at the Black Diamond Conference meet in Fairfield yesterday afternoon. 

The Lady Dogs finished in 1st Place in both the 4×4 Relay and 4×8 Relay. Ashlyn Rager also finished in 1st Place in Discus. 

The CWC Boys track team finished in 3rd Place at the Chuck Oyler Invitational in Benton yesterday afternoon. Tanner Spence finished in 1st Place in the 1 Mile Race in a new personal best 4:34.28.

In JV baseball yesterday, Carmi-White County defeated Harrisburg 21-8.
