The IHSA Boys Basketball State Finals wrapped up this weekend.
Our two area teams, Benton and Meridian, both fell short in their state title games.
Meridian fell to West Central in the 1A State Championship, 62-43.
Benton fell to Chicago Phillips in the 2A State Championship, 54-47.
In the 3A State Championship, Chicago Depaul College Prep defeated Chicago Mt. Carmel 49-41.
In the 4A State Championship, Homewood-Flossmoor defeated Normal Community 60-48.
The Carmi-White County baseball and softball teams will begin their seasons this afternoon.
The Bulldogs will travel to West Frankfort and the Lady Bulldogs will travel to Grayville.
Our first spring broadcast on 97.3 WRUL will be next Monday when the Bulldogs host Gallatin County, and then next Tuesday when the Lady Bulldogs host Carterville.
