The Carmi-White County girls basketball team defeated Edwards County on the road last night 52-42 to improve to 16-3 on the year as they take sole possession of 1st Place in the Black Diamond Conference, improving their conference record to 5-0.
The Lady Bulldogs were led in scoring by Mara Serafini who scored 24 points.
Caroline Simmons scored 22 points.
Addi Elliott scored 4 points.
Ashlyn Rager scored 2 points.
The Lady Bulldogs will host Webber on Monday at McDougal-Evers gymnasium.
The Carmi-White County wrestling team picked up a 47-34 win over Oblong-Palestine-Hutsonville last night at home.
Konner Buchanan and Connor Benham both received forfeits.
Caleb Seibers pinned his opponent in the 175 weight class in just 40 seconds.
Nelson Rider pinned his opponent in the 190 weight class in just 42 seconds.
Laeden Vargas pinned his opponent in the 285 weight class in 5:50.
Kale Wiggins pinned his opponent in the 138 weight class in 3:37.
Jazz Duckworth pinned his opponent in the 144 weight class in just 20 seconds.
Joey Shaffer pinned his opponent in the 157 weight class in just 21 seconds.
The Bulldog wrestlers are now 11-5 on the season, they will travel to Tecumseh next Wednesday.
