The Carmi-White County girls basketball team fell to Woodlawn last night on the road by a final score of 38-37.

Mara Serafini hit a three-pointer to tie the game at 37 with just under 3 minutes left to play in regulation, and then neither team could buy a basket.. for a long time.

The game would eventually go into overtime and with the game still tied at 37 in the final seconds, Carmi would commit a foul, sending Woodlawn to the free throw line with just 0.4 seconds left. Woodlawn made one of two free throws, winning the game 38-37.

The Lady Bulldogs end the regular season with a 25-5 record. They will begin regionals on Monday in Fairfield against either Flora or Newton who will play tomorrow afternoon. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM Monday night, and that game can be seen and heard on 97.3 FM WRUL and the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel.

The Carmi-White County boys basketball team will travel to Hamilton County tonight for a big Black Diamond Conference matchup against the Foxes. The Bulldogs enter tonight’s game with a 20-6 record and a 7-1 record in conference play.

The Bulldogs will then host Wayne City tomorrow afternoon for their final home game of the season. Varsity will tip-off at around 3:30.

The IHSA released the boys basketball regional seedings yesterday afternoon. Carmi-White County was given the 6-seed in the Benton South Sub-Sectional.
