The Carmi-White County boys basketball team defeated Eldorado last night in the opening round of the IHSA 2A regionals by a final score of 70-35.
The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Landon Driscoll who scored 25 points.

The Bulldogs improve to 24-7 on the season, and they advance to the regional semifinals as they will face Vienna at Massac County tomorrow night.
Vienna is 25-6 on the season, they were the co-champions of the Black Diamond Conference West. The Eagles defeated Carmi-White County last season in the regional semis.

Over the weekend, CWC senior wrestler Nelson Rider went 1-2 at the IHSA 1A State Finals in Champaign. Although Nelson didn’t bring home any hardware, he becomes just the 3rd Bulldog wrestler to win a match at the State Finals and his 41 wins is a new CWCHS record for the most wins in a single season.
