The Carmi-White County girls basketball team defeated Fairfield last night at home by a final score of 37-34.
It was a defensive slugfest from start to finish. Fairfield scored the first points of the game to go up 2-0, but Carmi then gained the lead and never gave it back.
The Lady Bulldogs were led in scoring by Mara Serafini who scored 14 points
Johanna Smith scored 11.
Addi Elliott and Caroline Simmons both scored 4.
Torrie Rider scored 3 and Ashlyn Rager scored 1.
The Lady Bulldogs are now 7-1 on the year and 3-0 in the Black Diamond Conference. They will travel to Flora on Thursday.
The CWC boys basketball team will travel to NCOE tonight to face the Fighting Cardinals. Carmi comes into tonight’s game with a 4-1 record after they finished in 3rd Place at the DuQuoin Tip-Off Classic last week. Fans can watch and listen to tonight’s game on 97.3 FM WRUL and the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel.
