The Carmi-White County girls basketball team fell to Mt. Carmel last night by a final score of 46-32. It was a battle early on as the Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a 19-14 lead with 4:40 left to play in the 2nd quarter, but Carmi would not score again until the final seconds of the 3rd quarter as Mt. Carmel went on a 19-0 run to lead 33-21 going into the 4th.
Back-to-back three pointers by the Lady Bulldogs trimmed that lead to 33-27, but that was as close as they would get as Mt. Carmel pulled away with the 14 point win.
It was a struggle on offense for the Lady Bulldogs, Carmi shot just 10/47 from the field.
Mara Serafini scored 10 points.
Addi Elliot & Caroline Simmons both scored 9.
Ashlyn Rager & Torrie Rider both scored 2.
The Lady Bulldogs fall to 10-2 on the season, they will host Evansville Bosse tonight at McDougal-Evers Gymnasium. Fans who can’t attend the game can watch and listen on 97.3 FM WRUL and the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel.
The CWC Wrestling team fell on the road last night against Lawrenceville.
Nelson Rider, Konner Buchanan and Kale Wiggins all won their matches for Carmi
The Bulldog wrestlers fall to 5-5 on the year, they will have the next 8 days off as they wont’ be in action again until next Thursday when they take part in the Carterville tournament.
