Last night the Carmi-White County Lady Bulldog basketball team defeated Mt. Vernon Indiana by a final score of 46-43. The Lady Dogs improve to 3-8 on the year, and they snap a 4-game losing streak. They will be at home tomorrow night against Lawrenceville.
Tonight the CWC boys basketball team will travel to Benton to face the Rangers, in a battle of two of the top teams in Southern Illinois. Both teams come in with a record of 6-1, and head coach Kevin Wolff knows that the Rangers are always a tough team to beat.
Varsity will tip-off around 7:30, for fans who can’t attend, they can listen to the game live on 97.3 WRUL or they can watch the game on the WRUL Sports YouTube Channel.
The Bulldog wrestling team will host Robinson tonight at McDougal-Evers Gymnasium.
Congratulations to Carmi-White County head football coach, Kurt Simon, for being selected to the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Simon has coached the Bulldogs to 152 wins, 3 conference championships, 3 undefeated seasons and 17 playoff appearances. Congratulations to coach Simon on a much deserved honor.
