The Carmi-White County Bulldog basketball team defeated Cairo last night at the DuQuoin Tip-Off Classic by a final of 76-42.
Landon Driscoll led the Dogs in scoring with 20 points.
Bryce Conner scored 18.
Tyler Goemaat scored 11
Mitchel Edwards scored 7.
Gavin Peyton, Tanner Spence and Kade Stockton all scored 4.
Gavin Holloman, Macen Haywood, Connor Newell and Trey Dixon all scored 2 points a piece.
The Bulldogs improve to 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in the tournament. They have set themselves up for a chance to win the tournament championship on Saturday where they will face Herrin at 12:30 PM and West Frankfort at 4 PM. Both of those games can be heard on 97.3 FM WRUL and online at WRUL.com. Carmi has won the DuQuoin Tournament only once, that came in 2016.
The Carmi-White County Lady Bulldogs will host Eldorado tonight at McDougal-Evers Gymnasium for a conference contest. The Lady Dogs lost to Eldorado just 10 days ago at the Harrisburg Preview Tournament, 43-35. Head Coach Clinton Wolff says the team will be more healthy and better prepared than when they faced the Lady Eagles last Monday.
