The Carmi-White County baseball and softball teams are scheduled to host Hamilton County at home today, weather permitting.
Back on Tuesday, the Bulldog baseball team fell to Hamilton County at McLeansboro by a final of 6-4 to fall to 2-4 on the year. The Bulldogs only managed 2 hits in the loss, falling to 0-1 in conference play.
The Lady Bulldogs however shut out Hamilton County on Tuesday, 9-0 – fueled by another dominant performance on the mound by Audrey Upton. The Lady Dogs sit at 3-4 on the year, they’ll look to improve to 2-0 in conference play this season. In Major League Baseball yesterday, the St. Louis Cardinals fell to the Atlanta Braves by a final score of 5-2. Atlanta sweeps the series, taking all 3 games at Busch Stadium. One bright spot for the Redbirds was rookie Jordan Walker, who went 2-4 with 2 RBI including his first major league home run. The Cardinals fall to 2-4 on the year, they will have today off before they begin a 3-game series in Milwaukee tomorrow.
