Local Sports Recap – April 26, 2023

The Carmi-White County baseball team swept a doubleheader against Eldorado yesterday afternoon, winning 10-6 and 13-3. 

The Bulldogs were able to score 8 runs in the top of the 7th inning for a comeback win in Game 1, they then used a 7-run 1st inning to pull away with a win in Game 2. 

The Bulldogs improve to 8-10 on the year and 5-3 in the BDC East as they have now won 5 of their last 7 games including 4 consecutive conference games. They will host Mt. Carmel this afternoon.

The Carmi-White County Lady Bulldog softball team swept Eldorado in a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon, dominating in both games, winning 17-0 and 8-2.

Audrey Upton pitched a perfect game in Game 1, and Mara Serafini hit a 3-run home run in Game 2. 

The Lady Bulldogs improve to 11-7 on the year and 7-1 in the BDC East. 

Carmi will have the rest of the week off, they are scheduled to travel to Robinson on Saturday weather permitting.

The Carmi-White County Girls Track team finished in 8th Place out of 12 teams at the DuQuoin Lady Indians Classic on Tuesday at DuQuoin High School.

Torrie Rider took home 1st Place in Shot Put, Ashlyn Rager finished in 2nd Place in Discus.

The Lady Bulldog Track team will have the next week off, they will take part in the BDC Meet next Wednesday. 

The CWC Boys Tennis team took a forfeit win over Mt. Carmel yesterday afternoon. The Bulldogs are now 10-2 on the year, they will travel to Centralia today. 

The Bulldog Track team will host the CWC Invite this afternoon at Harrington-Jeffries Sports Complex.
