The Carmi-White County boys and girls golf teams begin their season this Thursday at the Mount Carmel invitational. Neither team is very senior heavy this year but head coach Trey Mason says the future is bright for both the boys and girls golf teams. Mason has 18 golfers total this season including 10 on the boy’s side and eight on the girl’s side. It’ll be a tough match for both teams this Thursday as the boys will face some Little Illini Conference Teams that they don’t normally see, and the girls will be taking on the defending IHSA state champions, Mount Carmel. Despite the difficult task to the season, Mason is confident this year‘s team will be fun to watch. Both teams will play their first home match next Monday, August 15 as the boys host NCOE and the girls host Massac County.
