Little Miss White County Shows Mettle in Winning Pitch, Hit, & Run Competition at Busch

After successfully navigating competition at the White County Fair Queen Pageant, 8 year old Grae O’Neal of Grayville grabbed her helmet, put her cleats on and won the McCutchanville Ball Club Local Competition in Evansville for the MLB Pitch, Hit, and Run competition.  That set the youngster up with a date at Busch Stadium in St. Louis over the weekend.  She followed those wins with a Team Championship amongst fellow 7-8 year olds.  She was recognized before the first pitch Saturday night during opening ceremonies and is now headed into a pool.  There are 24 Team Champs from MLB stadiums/teams that have a chance to advance to the National Pitch, Hit, & Run Championships which will be held during the World Series.  O’Neal’s mother Celeste says she’ll have to wait until October to find out if she’s one of 4 girls to be selected in her age division.
