Last Meeting of Year for Enfield Village Board

The Enfield Village Board met Tuesday night for the last time in 2023.

The board opened the bids received for the 2006 Ford F250 and the 2003 Ford Crown Vic Interceptor.  They accepted the highest bids for the F250 from Gary Johnson of Johnson Truck Sales for $556 and for the Crown Vic from Steve Stokey of $711.

Now the village will advertise for bids for the water meters from Phase II of the Water Project, to be opened at next month’s meeting.

Concerning the street lighting, they’re working on the bases and also trying to figure out why some light of the Christmas lights are not working.

Beverly Thompson of Animal Control said Pets at Risk helped them get two dogs back home and gave out a written warning to a resident for medical neglect of a dog.  She is also asking the public for donations of blankets, heavy buckets for food, collars, and leashes at least six feet long.

Karen Weiss of the board is looking into obtaining a grant that would get funding to the village, to allow them to lease equipment to small businesses to help stimulate growth.  The board members are generally receptive to the idea, but have a lot of questions about it.  For about half an hour, they gave Karen some questions to take back and ask before they would be willing to move forward.

Finally, a brief Executive Session was held at 8:15 PM with no action to be taken.
