Kuykendall Arrested For Disorderly Conduct

A Crossville woman was arrested on Friday for Disorderly Conduct following multiple calls to the White County Sheriff’s Department. At around 7:30 PM Deputy Simmons was dispatched to 105 E Rudolph Street in reference to 41 year old Miranda Kuykendall of Winkler Street causing a disturbance. Prior to arrival Simmons spoke on the phone with Jessica Harris who told Simmons she was sitting in her home when she heard someone banging on her neighbors door and screaming loudly. When asked if she wanted to sign a complaint Harris stated that she did not. Upon arrival Simmons spoke with Jessica and Hovey Harris who stated that Kuykendall left in her vehicle speeding and slinging rocks. When asked about damage, Hovey stated that nothing had been damaged. At this time Jessica Harris stated that she wanted to sign a complaint against Kuykendall.

Simmons then went to 101 Rudolph Street where the incident occurred and spoke with Frieda Mercer, Kuykendalls mother, who told the Deputy that Kuykendall showed up at her house screaming and banging on her door. Mercer said she could not understand what Kuykendall was saying and would not let her in the residence. Mercer told Simmons she did not want to sign a complaint.

Sometime later, while enroute to another call, dispatch notified Simmons that Kuykendall had returned to the residence screaming and banging on the porch. Simmons noted that this was the third call he had received of Kuykendall screaming out in front of a residence in the past two days. He told dispatch he was going to try and make contact with her.

Upon arrival Simmons could hear a woman screaming at 101 Rudolph Street and saw Kuykendall sitting on the porch. The Deputy who was assisted by an Illinois State Trooper made contact with Kuykendall and she told the officers that she was going to go home and wouldn’t bother anyone else. Kuykendall was informed that a complaint had been signed against her and that she was going to be taken into custody. Kuykendall advised Mercer to call Rick Kuykendall and inform him she was going to jail. Rick arrived on scene and told Miranda she needed to get help. M Kuykendall was placed under arrest and transported to the White County Jail where bond was set at $100.

Kuykendall is being charged with Disorderly Conduct and appeared in White County Court Monday morning via zoom. She is scheduled for arraignment on April 13th at 9:30 AM.
