Jr. Pro Bulldogs To Play Final Home Game this Weekend

It has been a memorable season for Carmi-White County Jr. Pro football.

This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the program’s beginnings, and in the blink of an eye the season has reached the final two weeks.

This Saturday, the Bulldogs will host Sesser-Valier to wrap up the regular season beginning with the 5th/6th grade game at 10:30 with the 7th/8th grade game to follow.

It has been a challenging season for the 5th/6th grade crew, who come into Saturday’s game with a record of 0-6. They will not be the only team trying to pull away with their first win of the season on Saturday, Sesser-Valier also comes in with an 0-6 record.

The 7th/8th grade game however, will have some serious implications on the line.

Carmi-White County’s 7th/8th graders have had an incredible season, dominating their way to a 6-0 record. This Saturday’s game is one that has been circled on the calendar for quite some time. Sesser-Valier is 5-1 after they suffered their first loss of the season last week against Flora.

Flora has already punched their ticket to next Saturday’s Black Diamond Conference Championship Game, they will represent the northern half of the conference. With that being said, the winner between the Bulldogs and the Red Devils will face Flora for the conference championship on October 7th.

Sesser-Valier has won the BDC Championship in the past two seasons.

Carmi-White County last won the BDC Championships in 2019 & 2018.

The community is highly encouraged to make their way to Harrington-Jeffries Sports Complex on Saturday to watch these boys play their final home games of the season.

The 5th & 6th Grade game will begin at 10:30 AM, with the 7th & 8th Grade game to follow.
