The Clemence Elizabeth Cox Scholarship fund through the Jerry L. Cox Foundation has provided many students seeking a career in the medical field with the resources needed to achieve their dreams. The scholarships provide financial assistance to students entering the medical field, as well as, those pursuing advanced degrees in healthcare. Assistance is provided for tuition, books, and other direct educational expenses.
The most recent recipients include: Rachel Jennings, BSN, RN, who advanced her nursing degree to receive her bachelor’s degree in nursing; Manuel Tovar, Surgical Clinic Scribe, who completed his USMLE Step 1 and Rebecca Young, LPN, who is working to complete her advanced degree as a registered nurse.
“On behalf of Fairfield Memorial Hospital, I want to extend our gratitude to the Jerry L. Cox Foundation and Mr. Cox for his continued support of our team member’s educational pursuits. This contribution is not just a financial gift; it is an investment in the future of our hospital and the well-being of our patients. Donations to our educational fund make a profound impact on our ability to invest in skills and expertise, as well as empower our dedicated professionals to reach their highest potential.” commented Rachel Ewing, MSN, RN, Chief Nursing Officer at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
Fairfield Memorial Hospital has been working in collaboration with Frontier Community College to provide students with these financial resources. The Clemence Elizabeth Cox Scholarship fund has helped remove the barrier of debt for students and has developed a growing workforce of healthcare professionals to care for our shared community.
