It’s a White County Christmas kicks off the second week on November 19 with Gingerbread House Workshop at the University of Illinois Extension Office. Pre-registration for the workshop is required.
The gingerbread contest is open to any resident of White County. Individuals or groups may enter. Entries must be turned in from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, November 20 at the Chamber of Commerce office, located at 225 E Main Street in Carmi. Entry forms are available online at www.whitecountychristmas.com or by calling the Chamber office at 382-7606.
The Carmi Rotary Club will have a Chili Supper on November 20 from 5-7pm at the Carmi American Legion.
The Reindeer Run for Jefferson School beings at 10 am on November 21 at First Bank. Proceeds of the race, sponsored by First Bank, benefit Jefferson School student.
The Wabash Chapter DAR will once again host the Festival of Trees from 9am – 3pm on November 21 at First Mid-Illinois Bank and Trust Community Room. Many beautiful trees will be on display.
The White County Senior Citizens Center will hold a soup luncheon on November 21 from 11 am – 1pm at their facility.
On November 20-21 the Holiday Shopping Stroll will commence. Visit these individual stores to register for the prize being offered by the store: H.D. Bean Jewelers- Firefly necklace and earrings set, Merle Norman Cosmetics and Boutique- Byers Choice Gingerbread House, Logo Graphics-tree skirt and stockings and The Courtyard- Willow Tree Nativity Set.
As we look ahead, entries are still needed for the Lighted Christmas Parade on November 28 at 6 p.m. The parade will officially welcome Santa to Carmi. Entry forms are available by visiting whitecountychristmas.com or calling the Chamber office at 618-382-7606.
