Online records don’t yet indicate when a Carmi man is due in court following his arrest by Illinois State Police Saturday night. It was just before 10:30 when a trooper conducted the traffic stop due to a vehicle code violation according to the report. 44-year-old Clinton Wolff of Carmi was pulled over on Robinson at Jessup; subsequently placed under arrest and is being charged with Driving under the Influence of Alcohol. He was booked and released in about 6 minutes. Wolff is a Guidance Counselor with Carmi White County Unit 5 Schools and expected by many to be the heir apparent to the Athletic Director position.

September 16, 2024 at 6:05 pmI don’t think it’s appropriate for you guys to be putting place of employment on here that’s going overboard

September 16, 2024 at 6:26 pmIt’s not appropriate to drink and drive

September 16, 2024 at 7:27 pmNo one has the right to know who’s working with our children?

September 17, 2024 at 8:56 pmIts the news everybody is Entitled to the facts.I suppose you want to try and sweep it under the rug like they did when coach conner messed around with a girl on the team

September 16, 2024 at 6:30 pmI think if their job is to work with our youth it should be reported and mugshot included. Mr Wolf broke the law, and should have his picture up with the tweakers and trespassers. He could have killed one of those kids we trust him to teach, or himself. Let’s not send the message to our youth that DUIs are cool or okay.

September 16, 2024 at 7:16 pmSue,
I agree. When you’re paid by my tax dollars I believe that everyone should know what you do both good and bad.
Good Grief
September 16, 2024 at 8:20 pmOpe! Knocked off his high horse a little.
makes sense
September 17, 2024 at 2:53 pmreleasing a drunk driver, who is endangering people’s lives, in 6 minutes but locking kids up overnight for petty crimes when they have bail is a great representation of carmi

September 16, 2024 at 9:14 pmHis place of employment should absolutely be reported if he’s a representing for public school system.
Just me
September 16, 2024 at 9:18 pmWhen you are employed by the state, county or school district it is necessary to inform the public of any type of criminal offense. These people are either elected or appointed so yes the public has the right to know especially if they are employed by the school district.
Big not dawg
September 16, 2024 at 9:36 pmWould we be even hearing about this if he was pulled over by a Carmi or White County Sheriff department officer? Good job trooper! Now let’s just see how he gets out of it. Lol
Sick and tired
September 16, 2024 at 9:58 pmWhy are some people immediately released and others spend the night for the same offense?

September 17, 2024 at 2:53 pmI 💯 agree I got arrested for a bogus a## charge n I should of fought it but what’s the point? I’m a single mom n they could of gave 2 f bout me or my Dr appointment the next day..

September 17, 2024 at 7:06 amWhy can’t we post every one dui ??
Joe mama
September 17, 2024 at 10:13 amcause not everyone needs to be posted, sometimes it’s like, barely anything in their system. there’s no point making news about something that doesn’t really need it,
from how I see it, this is a first time mistake, everyone makes them,
Outlaw
September 17, 2024 at 12:46 pmWhat if that first time mistake turned into them hitting a loved one and killing them?
Just wondering
September 17, 2024 at 12:32 pmWho drove him home when he was released in minutes? Is the fact that he was processed in 6 minutes why there’s no mug shot like everyone else has posted? I have no children in school anymore so I have no feelings about this guy either way but, seems unfair there’s no pic to humiliate him like everyone else has
.
September 17, 2024 at 4:02 pmThere was a mug shot, but they took it down.

September 17, 2024 at 7:22 pmClinton Wolff is going to get out of it from his status in town. He is a piece of s*** who needs to be in jail not in the streets.
Yup again
September 17, 2024 at 8:45 pmIt only takes 1 second for a drunk driver to kill someone. This man has been known for violent outburst and needs to be help accountable for his action. Hello! He has an anger and addiction problem! Take him away from his job, get him help and pray he overcomes it! My taxes and my opinion!
Take It To The REAL News
September 17, 2024 at 8:53 pmIt’s 2024. He needs to be FIRED. This is NOT acceptable and I’m SURE it isn’t the first time he’s done it. It’s just the first time he got caught. What example are we setting for kids if he’s allowed to keep his position? He’s a guidance counselor?!? This man is who is GUIDING our youth? Okay, no.. He could’ve killed himself and God knows how many others!
Bobby
September 18, 2024 at 8:36 amEverybody makes mistakes 💯 if 1 without SIN cast the first stone I didn’t think so were so quick 2 condemn a person instead of trying 2 help
Oops again
September 18, 2024 at 11:21 amAs a taxpayer I say he should be held accountable for his actions! He is not invincible nor should he be held to a hire standard! He has been known to be violent and now he’s behind the wheel doing it? Hmm, he needs to be reprimanded! 1 time drinking and driving is 1 time too many! Wake up people! I believe all parents should show up at the next school board meeting with their concerns. Protect our children and community!

September 18, 2024 at 1:00 pmSad to see this. It shouldn’t have been posted about his employment. Pete

September 18, 2024 at 3:08 pmthe public should know who is around the children at school and sports etc… they don’t need to be around someone who drinks or worse …

September 18, 2024 at 9:29 pmClinton has done more for kids in Carmi than anyone commenting here. I have worked with him in the guidance office in the past and he was totally helpful and had the best interest of the kids in mind. He will learn from this.
