Illinois State Police District 19 responded to a single vehicle Personal Injury Traffic Crash early Saturday morning around 2:43 AM.
Alberto Ruiz, 28, of Henderson, KY was Eastbound on I-64 near Milepost 128 in White County when for unknown reasons his 2013 White Chevrolet Box Truck left the roadway and struck a guardrail in the median of the interstate.
Ruiz, along with passengers 28 year old Cartajena Chavez Milton of Henderson, and 21 year old Adonael Lopez, 24 year old Elivaldo Lopez, 21 year old Cornelio Perez, all of Evansville, and 38 year old Efraen Ramirez of Henderson, were taken to a local area hospital with injuries.
Ruiz was issued citations for Driving While License Suspended, No Insurance, Illegal Transportation of Open Alcohol, Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, and Driver Required to Wear Seat Belt. All passengers received Seat Belt Citations.
