Illinois State Police District 19 investigated a single vehicle traffic crash early Saturday around 12:35 a.m. in Saline County.
A preliminary investigation indicates a 17 year old male from Galatia was traveling northbound in his 2009 Ford F250 on Mt. Moriah Road, approximately ½ mile north of Land Road, when he failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the right side of the roadway, overturning in a ditch.
The driver and a 17 year old male passenger from Marion were transported by ambulance to an area hospital with injuries.
The driver was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Illegal Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor, and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid a Crash.
