Isaac King & Draxtyn Aud – The Dynamic Duo

Last Saturday’s playoff loss for the Carmi-White County Bulldogs against Athens marked the end of a historic season for the maroon and white, and the end of the careers of 10 Bulldog seniors. Among those seniors are Isaac King and Draxtyn Aud, the two leading rushers for the Dogs over the past two seasons. Although their football careers over (at the high school level), their legacy will forever be remembered in the CWC Football record books.

For the past two seasons, Isaac King has practically re-wrote the entire Carmi-White County rushing record books. Statistically, King is greatest running back to every play for the Bulldogs. Since taking over as the starting running back at the beginning of his sophomore year (Spring 2021 season), King has rushed for more yards and scored more touchdowns that anyone else in CWCHS history.

Here is a list of all the records broken by King in his career (courtesy of Toby Brown):

Most points in a game (40), at Flora 10-22-21

Most points in a career (348)

Most touchdowns in a season (24), 2022

Most touchdowns in a career (50)

Most rushing yards in a quarter (150) 1st quarter at West Frankfort, 9/3/2021

Most rushing yards in a season (1,945), 2021

Most rushing yards in a career (4,216)

Most consecutive 100-plus-yard rushing games (19) (Wk 1 2021 – Wk 9 2022)

Most 100-plus-yard rushing games in a season (10)

Most 100-plus-yard rushing games in a career (22)

Most rushing TDs in a season (22), 2021 (tied with Logan Rogers from 2010)

Most rushing TDs in a career (46)

Truly incredible.

The Bulldog offense provided a great 1-2-punch in 2021 and 2022 with King, and his partner, Draxtyn Aud.

Aud is tied for 14th all-time for touchdowns in a season as he scored 16 in 2022.  He’s also in 10th for points in a career (174) and tied for 8th for points in a season (128 in 2022).

Aud finished the 2022 season 642 yards and 14 touchdowns on 97 carries.

King and Aud will go down as one of, if not the best rushing duo in CWCHS history. The two combined for 5,242 rushing yards, 88 total touchdowns, 13 wins, 2 playoff appearances, and many memories.

Congratulations to two outstanding young men on outstanding football careers.

And a tip of the cap to all of the offensive linemen who helped paved the way and opened running lanes for King and Aud to run through.
