On Tuesday February 21st, the Carmi Police Department reported that they had received seven Criminal Damage complaints that occurred between Friday February 17th and Monday February 20th. The seven complaints consisted of tires being punctured or slashed on vehicles in the area of 7th Street, Crebs and Herbert Avenue. During the investigation, video evidence and surveillance footage had been obtained from various locations. After viewing the footage Carmi Police identified a 10 and 11 year old male juvenile as suspects in all of the Criminal Damage Reports. Carmi Police also identified a 13 and 14 year old male juvenile witnesses to some of the damages. The Police Department is still sifting through the provided video footage. All reports will be forwarded to the White County State’s Attorney’s office for review and to determine the appropriate charges.
