The Carmi Police Department is investigating an incident that took place Friday afternoon involving 4 juveniles that range in age from 14-16, allegedly shooting several other juveniles using a toy gun that shoots “Orbeez”. Orbeez are a water based BB that are a rapid fire higher velocity projectile. Carmi Police Chief Jason Carter stated that several subjects were struck with BBs while walking near a school and playing at Bradshaw Park. The Orbeez gun was taken into evidence, injuries were photographed and video footage has been obtained from the park. Complaints have been filed in several of the incidents. Carmi Police are awaiting an interview of one remaining juvenile suspect then the full report will be sent to White County State’s Attorney Denton Aud for his review..
