Authorities are investigating the death of a Fairfield man.
The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8 was requested by the Fairfield Police Department to conduct a death investigation in Fairfield, Il.
On Saturday, March 12th at approximately 8:00 a.m., 27 year old Trask C. Smith was found deceased near the 600 block of Southeast 4th Street. The official cause and manner of death will be released following once an autopsy and toxicology report is received. This is an active and ongoing investigation. No additional information is being released at this time.
