Leaders with Hamilton Memorial Hospital District are taking a proactive approach in attempting to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As part of that effort, the medical facility says beginning last Friday, March 6th, all outside visitors of the in-patient unit, including transitional care rehabilitation patients, must complete the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Visitor Screening Questionnaire. The questionnaires are available at the information desk and after-hours at the in-patient nurse station.
If a visitor answers “yes” to any of the questions, they’re being asked to postpone their visit for at least two weeks from the day symptoms began.
This in addition to the Illinois Department of Public Health mandate restricts visitors exhibiting any of the following:
- Influenza like illness- fever, cough, sore throat
- Under the age of 18
- No more than two visitors in patient room at all times
- Only immediate family or other significant persons defined by the patient can visit
