Historical Society Seeks Volunteers

 

 

The White County Historical Society recently completed its annual Pioneer Days, pointing out is was another success.

There were over 145 Fifth grade students visit the Society over two days, and now attention turns to Corn Day.

The Society will host the annual corn-tasting at Ratcliff Inn on Saturday Oct. 14 from 11 until 1 pm. One should contact Ranelle Hubele at 618-384-1790 if you would like to donate or corn dish or can help with serving, setting up or clean-up.

The museums will be open Corn Day Saturday from 11 until 2 that afternoon.

Plans are to have a float in the Corn Day parade. Anyone interested in decorating or dressing up in 1920s style, contact the Historical Society.

The group will also have the Robinson Stewart House open for tours at 5:30 Thursday evening, Oct. 12 during the Farm Bureau’s Farm to Table dinner.
