– The eagerly anticipated 45th annual Heritage Festival is set to make a grand return to Southeastern Illinois College during the first weekend of November. On Saturday, Nov. 4, the festival kicks off at 9 a.m., running until 4 p.m., and continues on Sunday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This beloved tradition promises to offer visitors a captivating blend of handcrafted treasures and an array of delectable foods. With over 90 vendors participating, it’s the ideal place to kick off the holiday shopping season. Shoppers can expect an extensive range of products, including pet clothing, doll clothing, candles, rocks and stones, handmade jewelry, fall and holiday décor, boutique clothing, primitives, antiques, collectibles, and much more.
Director Lori Cox expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “We are thrilled to bring Heritage Festival back, and it’s better than ever! With a blend of cherished favorites and exciting new vendors, this year’s event is not to be missed. After hosting this festival for 44 years, SIC has become known as the place to be for both vendors and visitors.”
In keeping with tradition, no festival is complete without an enticing array of culinary delights. Festival-goers can expect homemade candies, freeze-dried candies, baked goods, spiced nuts, and more. The Falcon Bistro will serve up a mouthwatering menu, featuring turkey and dressing, chicken & dumplings, sandwiches, pizza, and a delectable dessert selection.
Admission is a $1 donation to Freddie’s Food Pantry to benefit food insecure students. Parking is free and handicapped parking is available.
