A Local church got quite the scare during their evening service Sunday. Officers with the Carmi Police Department responded to a call at the Carmi New Beginning Church of God that 37 year Josiah T Griffin of 609 N 6th Street in Carmi had disrupted the service by threatening to burn the church down. Shortly after leaving the church, Griffin battered a male subject in the First Street area. Griffin was located and taken into custody.
Griffin is being charged with Disorderly Conduct and Battery and is currently being held at the White County Jail. No court date has been at this time.
