A Carmi woman has bonded herself out of the White County Jail following her arrest for Battery. On Tuesday evening, Deputy Jordan Weiss and Deputy Matt Wicker were dispatched to the Johnny Goff residence at 1119 County Road 1700 N in Carmi in regards to a dispute. Upon arrival, the officers were met by 34 year old Jayla Goff in the driveway. Weiss and Wicker went to speak with Johnny Goff who told the officers that he had been sleeping when he awoke to Jayla banging on the window. He said he got up and answered the door and was confronted by Jayla. Johnny said she became hostile and struck him on the left side of his face by his eye. The Deputies noted visible redness and swelling on his face. A complaint was signed by Johnny against Jayla. She was transported to the White County Jail where bond was set at $100 plus fees. She paid bond and was released.
