An 18 year old Shawneetown woman faces several charges following a single vehicle traffic accident around midnight Saturday. According to State Police, Clarissa L. Urchison was driving an ’03 Ford F150 on Davis Road, about a half mile south of Raben Road in Gallatin County when she failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the roadway and flipped the truck. Her passenger, 30 year old Caleb Mills of Equality was uninjured in the accident and though Urchison refused treatment initially, was later transported from the Gallatin County Courthouse to an area hospital.
She’s been charged with Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Driving with No Valid Drivers License, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Failure to Wear a Seat Belt and also Illegal Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor.
Urchison’s truck had to be towed from the scene. State troopers were assisted on scene by the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Department, Shawneetown PD and Gallatin County Ambulance personnel.
