Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8 Troopers are remaining mum on a current open and on going investigation out of Gallatin County. Troopers were called in by the Shawneetown Police Chief on Tuesday night to assist in the death investigation of a 46 year old man. State Police say the man was found next to the roadway in the 100 block of East McClernand Avenue. He had an apparent gunshot wound to the leg. No other information has been released as of Friday at noon.
