The Saline County Sheriff’s Department has announced that they have made four arrests in connection to a burglary that occurred at an Eldorado gun dealer.
29 handguns, one assault style rifle, ammunition, and magazines were stolen from Gunslinger’s Gun Shop in Eldorado on Sunday. Tuesday night, 18 year old William Emmons, 54 year old Charles Payne, 27 year old Nathan Behrens, and a juvenile were arrested in connection to the theft. All four individuals were charged with aggravated possession of stolen firearms. In addition, Emmons and the juvenile were charged with burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle.
The investigation into the crime continues, and is being conducted by the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, Eldorado Police Department, and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services assisted at the scene.
