FMH Presents May Employee of the Month

Fairfield Memorial Hospital honors an employee each month who has been nominated by their peers for providing extraordinary patient care and customer services within and outside of the Hospital.

Vicki James, RN, who works as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, was selected as the May 2024 Employee of the Month. Vicki has been with Fairfield Memorial Hospital since March of 2009. Vicki is notably a compassionate and caring nurse to patients and visitors who enter the FMH Emergency Department.

“Vicki has been with FMH since March of 2009. In those 15 years, she has taken care of a significant number of people in our community. Her 40 years of nursing experience makes her an invaluable member of our team and she is always willing to share her knowledge with us young pups. She says she doesn’t know everything, but I haven’t found anything yet that she couldn’t answer. Vicki is calm and methodical in critical situations, no-nonsense when firmness is needed, and compassionate always. She once pushed a patient home in a wheelchair when they didn’t have anyone who could pick them up, and that is just one example of the exemplary care she gives our patients. She is affectionately known as “Mom” or “Momma Vic” to her co-workers, because not only does she take great care of her patients, she takes care of us too.” commented Jennifer Young, RN, Emergency Department Manager.
