Five Receive Sentences in White County Court

Five individuals have been sentenced to prison in White County court recently according to States Attorney Chris Neal.

49-year-old Everett Martin will spend the next 3 years behind bars following his sentencing in late March.  The charges stem from a December 31, 2022 arrest in which Martin was charged with Possession of Meth, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving on a Suspended License, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration.  In a joint recommendation plea deal, Martin was found guilty of the Possession of Meth charge with all other charges dismissed.  In August of last year, Martin was sentenced to a 6 month stayed jail sentence and given 2 years of probation.  Probation was revoked on March 27th of this year in lieu of the 3 year prison sentence.  He’ll have 6 months of mandatory supervised release when he gets out of jail.

28-year-old Anthony Parrish will spend 3 years behind bars following his sentencing, also on March 27th.  In June of 2022, Parrish was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Video Recording of a Person’s Intimate Parts.  Parrish has been credited with 62 days served and he’ll have 6 months of Mandatory Supervised Release once he’s discharged from prison.

Judge T. Scott Webb handed down a 6 year sentence to 48-year-old James Earl on Monday, April 1st.  Earl was charged with Theft in June of last year.  In December he was found guilty while a charge of Deceptive Practices was dismissed.

68-year-old David Strean was sentenced to 7 and 5 years to be served consecutively on April 1st.  The 7 year sentence is in relation to a Possession of Methamphetamine guilty verdict; the 5 year sentence is in relation to an Unlawful Use of Property case.

24-year-old Erika Bailey will spend up to 3 years within the Illinois Department of Corrections following her sentencing on April 2nd.  Attorneys were able to reach a joint recommendation regarding Bailey’s charge of Criminal Damage to Government Property that occurred in November of last year.  She’s being credited with 65 days of time served and will also spend 6 months on Mandatory Supervised Release following her incarceration.
