The White County Soil and Water Conservation District announced the “fish truck” will be back in Carmi, Thursday, Oct. 12 around 11that morning.
The truck will be parked at the USDA parking lot, next to CVS Pharmacy, here in Carmi and fish orders will be brought to the customer in a water filled bag. One does not need to bring any containers.
As usual, channel catfish, hybrid bluegill, largemouth bass, redder sunfish, grass carp and minnows will be available for purchase.
Four to six inch catfish will run 80 cents each. Six to eight inch “cats” will cost 90 cents each.
Three inch bass are $1.50 each.
Two to four inch bluegill and three to four inch redear sunfish are $1.00 each.
One to three inch minnows will run $10.50 a pound.
Grass carp, eight to eleven inches will run $12 a piece. Purchasers of the carp will need to provide the exact location of the pond by county, township, section and range, as the fishery must apply for permits from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
