ELDORADO, IL – Ferrell Hospital is welcoming patients through the new entrances and into the newly-expanded area of the facility.
Patients coming into the emergency department, as well as for outpatient offices and services, should come in the new main entrance on Benton Street. Patients coming to Ferrell Hospital Family Practice should come to the new clinic entrance, also located on Benton Street.
Ferrell Hospital leadership cut the ribbon on the $34 million expansion one month ago, with ongoing work continuing to furnish and equip the space.
The project added 55,000 square feet of new space to the hospital that had previously been 33,000 square feet. Highlights of the addition include a new emergency department, operating rooms and endoscopy suite; enhanced radiology, lab and inpatient therapy services; 15 new private rooms; and an infusion area. New public areas, such as the cafeteria and lobbies, are also modern and spacious.
The next phase of the project, which includes modernizing the original facility, is now underway and is expected to be completed mid-2021.
