INA, Ill. (Dec. 2, 2015) – Returning and first-time students will have more chances to cross everything off their “to-do” list next month with extended hours at Rend Lake College. During these times, students can register for courses, pick up textbooks, get their Student ID, and much more.
RLC will offer 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. extended hours Monday-Thursday of the first two weeks of the Spring semester: Jan. 4-7 and Jan. 11-14. The college will also be open 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Fridays, Jan. 8 and Jan. 15. Textbooks can be purchased or rented starting Monday, Jan. 4, with classes beginning Monday, Jan. 11.
Many spring-starting students will be registered to attend Warrior Days from 10 a.m. – noon Friday, Jan. 8. This freshman orientation program will include information to students about programs on campus, areas of study, campus tours, and a variety of other topics.
College staff will also be on-hand the following day, from 9 a.m. – noon Saturday, Jan. 9, for Super Saturday. Many departments on campus will be open to help students test for placement, enroll in courses, ask questions about financial aid, pick up textbooks, and much more. Those interested in testing for placement should be in the Academic Advisement Center by 9:15 a.m.
Students will also need to make sure they have financial aid for the spring semester before registering for classes. Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Those who do not have financial aid will need to self-pay that day or sign up for the FACTS Payment Plan to ensure they remain enrolled. The RLC Business Office can provide information about the plan, but enrollment must be done online.
No appointments are necessary. Additional information is available by contacting the RLC Academic Advisement Center at 618-437-5321, Ext. 1266, or by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. Students can also visit www.rlc.edu to see the spring course schedule.
