An Evansville man, 24 year old Brodey Murbarger, has been arrested by Evansville Police detectives on murder charges in relation to the 2014 disappearance/murder of a Fairfield teenager.

According to police, Megan Nichols was initially considered a missing person until a local man who was preparing to cut firewood stumbled upon the remains in a shallow grave in a remote area south of Boyleston, IL, in rural Wayne County in 2018. She had been missing since July 3, 2014.
Murbarger was arrested at his place of employment Wednesday without incident.
He was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail where he will await extradition back to Illinois to face charges.
