At 1:30 Sunday afternoon, a White County Sheriff’s Department officer was called to Donna Emery’s residence at 731 County Road 575 North in Norris City about a burglary.
Emery said she had a lockbox next to her bed and items were missing from it. She said she hadn’t opened it for about a month and didn’t know when the items were taken. She says she kept the key beside the bed in a pill bottle, and had the key with her at all times. Emery noted that the lockbox had pry marks on it and noticed that $1,000 cash, diamond hoop earrings and a diamond ring were missing, with a total value of $3,000. She said she didn’t know who would steal her belongings.
