Egyptian Health Department was notified on October 10, 2020, of six Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:
- Saline County
- a female, in her 20’s, case status in progress
- a female, in her 20’s, case status in progress
- a male, in his 20’s, case status in progress
- White County
- a female, in her 30’s, at home and in isolation
- a female, in her 50’s, at home and in isolation
- a female, in her 50’s, at home and in isolation
- Please note: a female, in her 20’s, reported 10/9/2020 has been transferred to their local health department
To date, Saline County has had a total of 452 lab confirmed positives, including 6 deaths, White County has had a total of 207 lab-confirmed positives and 1 death, and Gallatin County has a total of 91 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.
*Case status in progress means that Contact Tracers are currently making contact with the COVID-19 positive case to determine where the individual is located (ie: at home or hospitalized).
As cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Yesterday, IDPH announced that Illinois had 2,818 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 35 additional deaths. Bringing the total to 313,518 confirmed cases and 8,945 deaths in Illinois.Please remember the 3 W’s
