Egyptian Health Department was notified, over the weekend (Saturday and Sunday), of 59 Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:
- Saline County (32)
- 1 female under the age of 10
- 5 males in their 20’s
- 5 females in their 30’s
- 1 male in his 30’s
- 2 females in their 40’s
- 4 male in their 40’s
- 1 female in her 50’s
- 3 males in their 50’s
- 3 females in their 60’s
- 3 males in their 60’s
- 1 male in his 70’s
- 1 female in her 80’s
- 1 male in his 80’s
- 1 male in his 90’s
- Gallatin County (4)
- 1 female in her 20’s
- 1 female in her 30’s
- 1 male in his 30’s
- 1 male in his 70’s
- White County (23)
- 2 females in their 20’s
- 1 male in his 20’s
- 1 female in her 30’s
- 1 male in his 30’s
- 3 females in her 40’s
- 3 males in their 40’s
- 2 males in their 50’s
- 1 female in her 60’s
- 2 males in their 60’s
- 5 females in their 70’s
- 1 female in her 80’s
- 1 male in his 80’s
To date, Saline County has had a total of 1,466 lab confirmed positives, including 26 deaths, 567 have recovered, White County has had a total of 920 lab-confirmed positives, including 12 deaths, 295 have recovered and Gallatin County has a total of 269 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 3 deaths, 132 have recovered. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.
- Quarantine can end after Day 10 without testing and if no symptoms have been reported during daily monitoring. With this strategy, residual post-quarantine transmission risk is estimated to be about 1% with an upper limit of about 10%.
- Quarantine can end after Day 7 if a diagnostic specimen tests negative and if no symptoms were reported during daily monitoring. The specimen may be collected and tested within 48 hours before the time of planned quarantine discontinuation (e.g., in anticipation of testing delays), but quarantine cannot be discontinued earlier than Day 8. In other words, the earliest they could test would be on Day6. With this strategy, the residual post-quarantine transmission risk is estimated to be about 5% with an upper limit of about 12%.
