Egyptian Health Department Reports 2 White County Deaths Saturday; 36 Cases Over the Weekend

Egyptian Health Department was notified, Saturday, of two White County Residents who have passed away due to complications of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Egyptian Health Department is saddened by this news and their thoughts are with the families.

 

Egyptian Health Department was notified, over the weekend (Saturday and Sunday), of 36 Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:

 

  • Saline County (18)
    • 1 female in her teens
    • 1 male in his teens
    • 1 female in her 20’s
    • 2 males in their 20’s
    • 1 female in her 30’s
    • 3 females in their 40’s
    • 3 females in their 50’s
    • 1 male in his 50’s
    • 1 female in her 60’s
    • 1 female in her 70’s
    • 2 females in their 80’s
    • 1 female; age demographics unknown- case status in progress.

 

  • Gallatin County (4)
    • 1 female in her teens
    • 1 female in her 30’s
    • 1 female in her 40’s
    • 1 female in her 50’s

 

  • White County (14)
    • 1 female in her 20’s
    • 2 males in their 20’s
    • 1 female in her 30’s
    • 1 male in his 30’s
    • 1 male in his 40’s
    • 2 females in their 50’s
    • 2 females in their 70’s
    • 1 male in his 70’s
    • 1 female in her 80’s
    • 1 male in his 80’s
    • 1 male over the age of 100

 

To date, Saline County has had a total of 1,318 lab confirmed positives, including 26 deaths, 559 have recovered, White County has had a total of 748 lab-confirmed positives, including 11 deaths, 287 have recovered, and Gallatin County has a total of 247 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths, 129 have recovered. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.

 

 

As cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14* days. To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.
If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Please note: If you have received results for a COVID-19 Rapid Test– ???????????????????????????????? or ????????????????????????????????– you should still ???????????????????????????? until you receive your lab-confirmed results. IDPH announced that Illinois has 7,598 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 76 additional deaths. Bringing the total to 787,573 confirmed cases and 13,255 deaths in Illinois.
