Egyptian Health Department Reports 2 Saline County Deaths; 27 New COVID-19 Cases Thursday

Egyptian Health Department was notified of 2 Saline County residents who have passed away due to complications of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Egyptian Health Department is saddened by this news and their thoughts are with the families.

 

Egyptian Health Department was notified on Thursday of 27 Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:

 

  • Saline County (15) (11.8% positivity rate)
    • a male under the age of 5
    • a female under the age of 10
    • a female in her 20’s
    • 2 males in their 20’s
    • a female in her 30’s
    • 2 males in their 30’s
    • a male in his 40’s
    • a female in her 50’s
    • 2 females in their 60’s
    • a male in his 60’s
    • 2 females in their 70’s

 

  • Gallatin County (4) (1% positivity rate)
    • a female in her 20’s
    • a female in her 50’s
    • a male in his 50’s
    • a male in his 60’s

 

  • White County (8) (4.6% positivity rate)
    • a female in her 30’s
    • a male in his 30’s
    • 2 females in their 50’s
    • a female in her 60’s
    • a male in his 60’s
    • a female in her 70’s
    • a male in his 70’s

 

To date, Saline County has had a total of 782 lab confirmed positives, including 14 deaths, 379 have recovered, White County has had a total of 350 lab-confirmed positives, including 6 deaths, 202 have recovered, and Gallatin County has a total of 151 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths, 90 have recovered. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.

 

 

As cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.
If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Please note: If you have received results for a COVID-19 Rapid Test– ???????????????? or ????????????????– you should still ?????????????? until you receive your lab-confirmed results. IDPH announced that Illinois has 9,935 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 97 additional deaths. Bringing the total to 447,491 confirmed cases and 10,030 deaths in Illinois.
