Egyptian Health Department Reports 2 New White County Deaths; 21 New Cases in Tri-County Area

Egyptian Health Department was notified of 2 White County residents who have passed away due to complications of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Egyptian Health Department is saddened by this news and their thoughts are with the families.

 

Egyptian Health Department was notified on Wednesday of 21 Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals include:

 

  • Saline County (12)
    • a female in her teens
    • 2 females in 20’s
    • 3 females in their 30’s
    • 2 males in their 30’s
    • a female in her 40’s
    • a male in his 50’s
    • a male in his 60’s
    • a female in her 80’s

 

  • Gallatin County (3)
    • a male in his teens
    • a female in her 20’s
    • a female in her 60’s

 

  • White County (6)
    • 2 females in their teens
    • a female in her 30’s
    • a male in his 40’s
    • a female in her 60’s
    • a female in her 70’s

To date, Saline County has had a total of 909 lab confirmed positives, including 20 deaths, 415 have recovered, White County has had a total of 398 lab-confirmed positives, including 7 deaths, 209 have recovered, and Gallatin County has a total of 172 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 2 deaths, 95 have recovered. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.

As cases increase, the number of close contacts increases for individuals who need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days. To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.
If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Yesterday, IDPH announced that Illinois has 12,623 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 79 additional deaths. Bringing the total to 511,183 confirmed cases and 10,289 deaths in Illinois.
